Welcome to Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County and thank you for your interest in volunteering to build affordable housing in Bergen County.  Our homes are built with volunteer labor and we need your help to keep on building homes for hard-working families.

We currently have two build sites in Bergen County.  In Englewood, we are building new duplexes on Third Street and in Edgewater we are refurbishing apartment units into affordable condominiums on Undercliff Avenue.  The sites are open Tuesday through Saturday and the workday is 8am - 4pm.  You must be at least 16 years old to work on the construction site.  

Please note that you MUST contact the Habitat office in order to schedule a volunteer date.  Please DO NOT show up at the work site without notice.

It takes more than construction volunteers to build a Habitat home.  Behind the scenes, volunteers help raise awareness of poverty housing in Bergen County as well as serve on Committees that help raise funds, find new Habitat home sites and mentor Habitat Bergen partner families.  If you are interested in learning more about these committees, please send an email to [ email ] with your name and the committee you would like to be involved with.

If you are interested in volunteering in other ways, you can provide lunch for construction volunteers, help with special events or help recruit other volunteers by spreading the word about the work that we are doing here in Bergen County.
