GE VOLUNTEERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD LEND HELPING HANDS IN ENGLEWOOD
A sea of yellow shirts descended upon the Third Street Habitat Build on Saturday, July 19th as forty-eight members of GE’s Experienced Commercial Leadership Program (ECLP) lent their helping hands to the Guzman and Ferriera families. The volunteers, who came from as far away as China and Jordan, worked side-by-side with the partner families to install flooring and construct decks on the families’ new homes. It was an amazing display of generosity and dedication and many new friendships were formed during the workday. We thank GE and look forward to welcoming them back again next year.
On Thursday June 19th, the graduating eighth graders presented a check for $1,000 to Habitat Bergen Board Member Tricia Jansen. The students have been very active in raising money over the past 4 years and in honor of Tricia's work with Habitat Bergen, they selected Habitat as the recipient of their generous donation. Thank you Charles DeWolf students for your amazing support!
Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County Mission Statement - Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County is a not-for-profit organization working in partnership with God and people everywhere toward the goal of eliminating poverty housing and homelessness. Using volunteer labor and donated funds and materials, Habitat builds or rehabilitates simple, decent houses and sells them to families at cost, with no interest added, so that every person can experience God’s love and live as God intends..
