Committees

 With a minimal staff, Habitat For Humanity of Bergen County depends upon volunteer committees for support with projects like Family Selection, Family Support, Public Relations, Site Selection, and Fund-raising. If you are interested in joining any of these committees, contact the Habitat office at 201-457-1020 or via email.

Construction / Site Selection Chair: Keith Lesser Email
To coordinate labor, plans, materials and family interests to build the finished product, "a simple, decent house in a decent community for God's people in need."

Identify potential sites, evaluate sites' availability and appropriateness, evaluate sites suitability for affiliate's basic house plans, develop a site acquisitions criteria policy for board approval, implement the board-approved site acquisition policy and maintain acquired sites.
 

Family Selection / Oradell Project Chair: Kurt Breitenstein Email
The committee organizes and carries out application, interview, and selection processes. We find the families who fit the criteria of need for shelter, ability to make no-interest loan payments, and ability to partner with Habitat for Humanity.
 
Family Mentoring Chair: Janine Getler Email
To provide support to new Habitat families as they make the transition to becoming new home owners.
 
Finance Chair: Joe Grillo Email
Budgeting, accounting, grant applications & all items related to the fiscal responsibilities of the affiliate.
 
Funds Development Chair: Tricia Jansen Email
To raise money as determined by the Board of Directors to fund the needs of the organization in order that simple, decent housing can be built with Partner Families.
